5G launched in Bangladesh

Bangladesh enters in 5G technology 

Teletalk officially launched 5G network services in Bangladesh, On December 13, 2021. But not all over the place currently this services is available only in 6 place. Bangladesh enters 5G era more than 60 other countries with the fifth generation of mobile internet connectivity. Bangladesh introduced 3G cellular technology in October 2012 and 4G technology in February 2018.

Let’s talk about 5G network in Bangladesh.

5G Network availability area right now  

Huawei and Nokia has partnered with Teletalk to launches the first 5G network in Bangladesh. Currently, only Teletalk users can access 5G in Bangladesh. Other private mobile phone operators will have to wait until the auction set for March 2022 to get 5G services. 5G service only available on these area:

  • Prime Minister's Office
  • Parliament
  • Secretariat
  • Bangabandhu Museum
  • Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman's birthplace
  • National Martyrs' Memorial


How to get 5G access in mobile 

You need a 5G enable SIM and device to run 5G services. Right now many 5G enables devices are available in the market. The mobile companies making 5G enables devices right now based on 5G technology, the amount of 5G enables devices increasing in market day by day.

To ensure your Teletalk SIM run 5G contact with customer care. Or you will get the network setting through SMS by Write "set" and send SMS to "738".

In reply SMS you will get a configuration file. Please save the configuration file in your handset. In the time of saving the file please use a pre-configured password 1234.

NOTE: Right now the configuration file supports all Nokia Handsets and Android-based Smart Phones.


Benefits of 5G

The main advantage of 5G are lower latency and higher bandwidth speed than existing 4G networks. Speed in transmissions can approach 15 or 20 GBPS, in 5G the latency will be ten times less than in 4G. So, 5G users can expect at least 20% more speed than 4G. This means you can stream HD videos on your phone without buffering and play multiplayer games with very fast pings.

5G network already popular in worldwide, even our neighborhood country Nepal, Sri Lanka, Pakistan and India already have public access to 5G.

Bangladesh has 17.69 million cellular subscribers and 12 million mobile Internet users among four cellular operators.

Only 28% of subscribers have used 4G networks, while 41% people have smartphone. Experts say that the technology is set to change how people use their phones and consume data for consumers and businesses.

Users will benefit from faster internet and smoother telecommunications services after introducing the 5G technology. 5G network will change the society.
