Grameenphone launches eSIM in Bangladesh
GP introduce eSIM in Bangladesh for the first time
Grameenphone, country's largest mobile operator, for the first time has launched eSIM in Bangladesh officially on 1 March 2022. Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC), a couple of months back, approved eSIM for operators. The world is moving forward with greener technology. E SIM technology can make people lives easier, give more freedom of choice and better connectivity.
What is eSIM
What is the meaning of eSIM (Embedded-SIM) actually it refers to the software layer in device, which can’t removable. eSIM is embedded in a mobile device that allows you to connect with your operator of choice without having the need to purchase a physical SIM Card. It works just like a regular SIM but does not require a physical card.
Benefits of eSIM
1. Safe: Although this a embedded in mobile device and pre installed so no fear of losing SIM card
2. Convenient: Easy to install, by scan a QR code you can activate your sim in your supported device.
3. Eco-friendly: It works just like a regular SIM but does not require a physical card so plastic can not be used anymore.
Can my phone run eSIM?
Most of the flagship device in market support eSIM technology. Very few devices currently have eSIM support. Apple, Samsung and Google devices support eSIM.

How to get eSIM in Bangladesh
According to GP’s website, customers can now purchase new numbers or replace their existing SIM with an eSIM. The service will be available for all Customers from March 7, 2022.
